Open beta

The party game that used to live on one laptop now lives on the internet.

Who's Not Lying? (then called "One of These People Is Not Lying") started as a Python script that ran on a laptop at home: one game at a time, friends on the same Wi‑Fi. It is now a website. Anyone can open a lobby, share the six-letter code or the QR code, and play from their phones while a TV shows the case files.

What is new:

  • Lobbies. Open one at /new. Temporary lobbies vanish after a day idle; sign in to keep a persistent one with its own leaderboard.
  • Host controls that don't spoil. The host page runs the round without showing who is telling the truth, so the host can play too.
  • Accounts. Email and password, or Google / Discord. Your stats follow you, and the game stops dealing you questions you have already heard.
  • Packs. Trivia with convincing lies, the absurd-but-true pack, and PhD Mode, where every truth comes from a real paper.

It is a beta. If something breaks, the GitHub issues are open.
